Program Format

Short programs typically run for several weeks during the summer or winter term and combine academic coursework with cultural experiences in Prague.

Students attend classes in English and earn 3 US credits for one course, which may transfer to their home institution depending on university policies.

Program Details

Applicants should have:

• a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
• completed at least one semester of university study

Students with a lower GPA should consult their home university coordinator.

Required documents include:

• motivation letter (max. 400 words, written in English)
• official university transcript
• high school name and graduation year
• proof of English proficiency (waived for native speakers)
• copy of passport or ID and passport photo

Your passport must be valid for the duration of the program plus three months.

The short-term program fee covers:

• tuition for one course (3 US credits)
• student housing
• health insurance
• visa support (if required)
• airport pick-up and housing transfer
• on-site orientation
• Prague public transportation pass
• student benefits program
• final transcript delivery

After acceptance, students will:

  1. Sign the Study Abroad contract
  2. Pay the $500 program deposit
  3. Submit the course selection form
  4. Provide mailing address and passport photo
  5. Prepare visa documents (for non-EU students)
  6. Pay 25% of the program cost one month before the start
  7. Pay the remaining 75% one week before arrival
  8. Submit travel details
  9. Attend orientation in Prague

Students will also receive login credentials for UNYP systems and access to the visiting students WhatsApp group.

Students enroll in one course worth 3 US credits.*

After submitting your application, UNYP’s Student Mobility Academic Manager will contact you and provide the current course list along with guidance through the course registration process.

*Students wishing to take two courses may do so for an additional fee. If this is you, please let us know.

The UNYP short-term program includes accommodation in one of several student residences located near campus.

Housing assignments are based on availability.

Belgická Apartments

Located 100 meters from campus, offering double rooms in renovated student apartments with private kitchen and bathroom.

Student House Botič

Located 8 minutes by tram from UNYP, offering double rooms with private bathrooms and shared kitchen facilities.

ZEITRAUM Student Housing

Dormitory-style housing in a residential area with convenient public transportation access.

Erasmus in Prague Residences

Student residences located near campus offer comfortable accommodation and services.

Single rooms may be requested for an additional fee (approx. $250) depending on availability.
