Included in the Short-Term Program fee:

  • Tuition
    • 3 US credits for Winter/ Summer programs (1 course)
  • Housing
    • Housing in one of the residences listed here
  • Health Insurance
    • Basic Czech health insurance coverage for students, valid for student visa purposes
  • Visa Support
    • The International Office will provide information on how to navigate the visa application process and will also provide crucial documentation necessary for the visa application itself if a visa is required. US citizens do not need a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
  • CGE service
    • Once you’re a confirmed participant in the program we will provide you with all the information you need to help you get ready to study abroad in Prague. Our staff is always available to help answer your questions and can even connect you with current students for their perspectives and insights.
  • Airport Pick Up and Transport to Housing
    • If you arrive at Prague’s Vaclav Havel International Airport (PRG) on the designated Arrival Day and tell us your arrival information in advance, our team of staff and student volunteers will meet you at the airport and take you directly to your housing in Prague. Then we will show you around the student residence and the local neighborhood, so you begin to feel at home right away.
  • On-Site Orientation
    • The day after Arrival Day, orientation sessions at UNYP will introduce you to your university home for the semester, your fellow students and instructors, and the lovely Vinohrady neighborhood.
  • Transportation Pass
    • Travel worry-free throughout Prague via metro, tram, and bus with the Transportation Pass that UNYP provides for you.
  • Student Benefits Program
    • Take advantage of the many discounts and other benefits available through UNYP’s student benefits program, including discounts on gyms, swimming pools, local restaurants, retail outlets, and hotels.
    • The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) Card issued in your name, together with your UNYP ID card, will allow you to take advantage of student benefits across Europe.
  • Mailing of your Final Transcripts (after the end of your stay with UNYP)
    • Once your grades are finalized at the end of the semester, your official transcript will be sent by standard mail to the address you indicate on your application (usually your university’s registrar’s office).
      Grades are finalized about one month after the final exam period is over.
      If you need additional transcripts later, just email CGE.
  • A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 with at least 1 completed semester of college.
  • If your GPA is lower, contact your home university coordinator for further details.
  • A motivation letter (written in English – max. 400 words)
  • Name of high school and your graduation year
  • Official University Transcript
  • Letter from your home University confirming English language ability (waived for native speakers of English) or English language certificate (for further details https://www.unyp.cz/admissions-requirements/)
  • Copy of ID or passport (plus digital passport photo)
  • Your passport must be valid for at least the duration of the program +3 months.
  • Students are required to take 1 course 3 US Credits*
  • Once you submit your Study abroad application, UNYP Student Mobility Academic Manager will contact you, and send you a link to our current course list and guide you throughout the course registration process.

  • The course list here serves only for informative purposes, the up-to-date course list will be sent to you by email.

*If you wish to take two courses, please let the UNYP CGE office know as you will be charged an additional fee for an extra course.

After being Accepted to Short term programs at UNYP you will need to follow with these steps:

  • Review and sign the Study Abroad contract
    • Once you receive an email notification sign via Signi
  • Complete the Study Abroad program/short-term program deposit ($500)
    • Attach your UNYP Student ID number to your deposit payment.  Your UNYP Student ID number can be found on your Study Abroad/Short-Program Contract in the top right corner of the first page.
  • Submit the Course Selection form to UNYP
    • Check the course section below for more information
  • Provide UNYP with your preferred mailing address (cge@unyp.cz)
    • UNYP must ship you some documents for your visa application.  The address you provide to UNYP as your preferred mailing address is where we will send your visa documents.
  • Provide UNYP with a passport-style photo of yourself (cge@unyp.cz)
  • Prepare the necessary visa documents (see your Czech Embassy’s website for full details on properly submitting these documents) IF YOU ARE NON-EU CITIZEN. US citizens do not need a visa for a stay of up to 90 days.to 90 days.
  • Complete 25% Program Payment (one month before the program)
  • Obtain UNYP Login Credentials for Email, E-Learning, E-GNOMON
  • Join the UNYP Visiting Students Facebook Group and WhatsApp chat
  • Send your arrival flight details to UNYP (cge@unyp.cz)
  • Inform UNYP once the visa is approved – if applicable (cge@unyp.cz)
  • Complete 75% Program Payment (one week before the program)
  • Arrive in Prague on Arrival Day
  • Check in to orientation at UNYP for Day 1 of orientation week
