UNYP’s Business Program Receives New Accreditation and an Upgrade

The University of New York in Prague is pleased to announce that the School of Business and IT has received new Czech (European) accreditation from Národní akreditační úřad pro vysoké školství (National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education) for its Business program (BBA). This milestone reflects our continued commitment to maintaining high academic standards and preparing students for success in the business world.

A Shift Toward Professional Immersion

With this accreditation, UNYP is launching a new version of the Business program focused on real-world, professional development. While current students will remain on their existing study path, future students will benefit from enhancements to the program.

Key updates include:

• Full-Semester Professional Immersion Experience
  Students will engage in a full-time internship with one of UNYP’s partner companies. This will replace the traditional Bachelor’s thesis and project proposal. There are no classes this semester to ensure complete focus on professional development.
• Guided Professional Growth
  Each student will follow a custom plan under the mentorship of a company supervisor and course guarantor. Goals and outcomes will be clearly defined to ensure the experience is career-relevant and academically rigorous.
• Assessment Through Experience
  Upon completion of the immersion, students will submit a concise summary and deliver a presentation. This, combined with the BACE component (which remains unchanged), forms the core of the State exam.
• Curricular Updates
  • International Business becomes a mandatory course, and Ethics shifts to elective status.
  • A minimum of 3 electives is now required for each concentration.
  • Students must align their Professional Immersion with their concentration.

UNYP plans to maintain key concentrations, including Sports Management, HR, Finance, and Marketing. Some adjustments to BBA concentrations may be announced by August 2025.

This program redesign strengthens the bridge between academic learning and real-world business practice. It’s a modern, job-ready learning approach that equips students with the knowledge and experience they need to succeed after graduation.
