Dr. Rita Kočárová is a psychologist, therapist, researcher, leader and innovator in the field of psychedelic therapy and care, education and research. She has been professionally involved with psychedelics for about 10 years and has completed her PhD studies in Clinical and Health Psychology at Charles University. She is the founder of several organizations focusing on the development of education and training programs, psychedelic care services and guidelines.
As a researcher at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), she has investigated the therapeutic and transdiagnostic potential of psychedelics. She was the principal investigator of National Psychedelic Research co-funded by a state agency. She is the author of several publications on the use of psychedelics.
In the therapeutic field, she has worked as a facilitator of legal psilocybin-assisted retreats in Jamaica and as a therapist in private practice. She has completed comprehensive Gestalt psychotherapy training (over 1000 hours) and various specialized trainings abroad in psychedelic therapy and research (Massachusetts, USA), MDMA-assisted therapy for PTSD (California, USA), facilitation of psilocybin interventions (Jamaica), 5-MeO-DMT-assisted therapy in clinical research (USA/Czech Republic), and completed a fellowship in Peru focusing on ayahuasca-assisted therapy. She is a member of the Czech Association for Psychotherapy.
She is currently leading the creation and implementation of educational programs in the field of psychedelic states of consciousness within the Beyond Academy and Beyond Institute.
