Štefan Sarvaš was born in Slovakia and acquired Ph.D. from Department of Sociology, Charles University, Prague. He had started his professional career as an analyst at the Ministry of Defense, Czech Republic. During this work Štefan received several fellowship in the Centre for European Security Studies, University of Groningen where he published ‘Civil-military relationship in Czech Republic‘. Moreover, he published several papers in leading journals, e.g. Armed Forces and Society or contributed to several books. He is a co-author of the book ‘Proč věříme dezinformacím’, published in 2024.
As of 1999 he transferred to the private sector and worked for the leading market research agency, AISA, in Prague. Later he worked for Philip Morris International in Lausanne. Last 17 years he has worked for Mars as the head or Market Research in Central Europe in Prague, Global research lead in Mars Petcare in Brussels, European Market Research Head in London, Global Senior Director for Market Analytics in Chicago. Last 4 years he has been working as Global internal consultant working on Global, Regional or Local strategies in Mars Wrigley. Chicago.
Štefan has lots of passion for Marketing Science and in last 13 years he has been working on a number projects together with the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science, at University of Adelaide.
