Tereza Hyánková is a social anthropologist who obtained her Ph.D. at Charles University, Prague (Czech Republic). She undertook an internship at the University of Aix-en-Provence-Marseille (France) and Max Planck Institute, Halle (Germany), and has teaching experience from the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), from the Bryn Mawr College (USA) and from the Charles University, Prague (Czech Republic). She conducted fieldwork in Algeria, France, and the Czech Republic. Her main interests are Kabyle migration, migration theories, ethnicity and nationalism, post-colonialism and post-communism. In 2015 she published a monograph based on her long-term fieldwork called From Algeria to the Future: Kabyle Migration to the Czech Republic.
