Scientific Article from UNYP Bachelor Thesis on AI in Recruitment Processes was downloaded more than 13,425times

We are thrilled to announce that based on the final Bachelor Thesis of Zuzana Sýkorová , the University of New York in Prague (UNYP) research team published a business-relevant scientific article titled “Incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Recruitment Processes: Ethical Considerations.”

This insightful article, co-authored by Zuzana Sýkorová , Dana Hague, Ondřej Dvouletý and David Anthony Procházka is now available as open-access on the Emerald Publisher website, featured in the Vilakshan – XIMB Journal of Management. You can read it here.

This article provides valuable insights for recruiters on the nuanced topic of AI-based recruitment, offering a deeper understanding of its complexities and ethical implications. The study employed a qualitative approach within the context of the Czech Republic, involving interviews with four experienced Czech-based recruiters. These interviews, conducted in Autumn 2023, were transcribed and thematically analyzed. The findings highlight the critical role of the human factor in recruitment. While some interviewees see potential in using chatbots for initial candidate selection, they emphasize that human judgment remains irreplaceable in final hiring decisions. Key ethical challenges identified include privacy and data protection concerns, particularly in relation to GDPR legislation.

Since its publication in 2024, the article has been downloaded an impressive 13,425 times from the publisher’s website, reflecting its significant impact and interest within the academic and professional communities, documenting UNYP´s efforts to reflect upon the most recent trends, share them with the students, and result in interactive cooperation among the students, instructors and research team.
