Author: Skýpalová, Renata; Šikýř, Martin; Vávrová, Jana

What keeps employees engaged and motivated at work—and what drives them away? A new study coauthored by Dr. M. Šikýř explores employee satisfaction in the Czech and Slovak Republics, analyzing key factors that influence workplace happiness and dissatisfaction.

Using data from the Gi Group Holding 2023 labor market surveys, which surveyed 1,119 employees in the Czech Republic and 1,492 in Slovakia, the study uncovers valuable insights into what matters most in the workplace.

Key Findings:

✅ Employees feel most satisfied with supportive colleagues, engaging work, and a healthy work- life balance.
❌ The most significant pain points? Low salaries, high stress, and unfavorable working conditions.

The study also examines employee well-being, including their current workplace feelings and experiences with workplace bullying. The findings offer crucial takeaways for employers looking to create a more positive and productive work environment.
