Barbora Kučerová

Barbora received BA and MA from Philosophy at Charles University. In her research, she focused on how language structures and predicts perception and feelings in conscious experience. Currently, she is studying Ph.D. in Psychology at Masaryk University. In her Ph.D. project, she looks to whether meditation can change the habitual structures of perception and experience. Namely, she would like to see if our unwillingness to be compassionate with an outgroup could be attenuated or shifted. In 2020/2021, she joined the Sagol Center for Brain and Mind lab at Reichman University, Israel, where she cooperated with Dr. Yulia Golland and Dr. Nava Levit-Binnun on the role of oxytocin in compassion. In 2021 Barbora was awarded the Masaryk Distinguished Chair scholarship to continue the work with Dr. Golland and Dr. Levit-Binnun. Barbora currently teaches a variety of courses at Faculty of Social Science and Pedagogy Faculty at Masaryk University and the course of Clinical Psychology and Psychology of Religion at UNYP.
