Our Faculty

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) boasts a highly qualified, international teaching faculty dedicated to teaching, research, advising, and intellectual growth. With over 120 faculty members, the majority hold or are pursuing Ph.D.s and are native English speakers.

They emphasize dynamic, interactive teaching and bring diverse expertise from over 30 countries, primarily the U.S. (38%), Czechia (35%), and the U.K. (16%).

Many faculty also teach at prestigious Prague universities like Charles University and Prague University of Economics.

The UNYP Credit System

UNYP uses both the ECTS and American semester credit systems, with one-semester credit equaling two ECTS. This dual system reflects UNYP’s partnership with the State University of New York, Empire State University, and its history of offering multiple-degree programs.

• ECTS Allocation: Standard allocation is 60 ECTS per semester.
• Workload: One-semester credit (2 ECTS) equates to 50–60 work hours, though actual effort varies per student.

Course syllabi detail learning outcomes and workload estimates, which are evaluated annually through Student Evaluations of Instruction. UNYP reviews and adjusts credit allocations and workload estimates as needed to ensure accuracy.
