Introducing the UNYP Career Office

Supporting our students as they enter a competitive job market

The UNYP Career Office serves students and recent graduates as they transition from the university to the labor market. Research shows that 65% of global graduates feel that attending university has not increased their chances of acquiring a job. The UNYP Career Office is dedicated to bridging this gap by offering a wide range of career services that could help our students develop their skills and elevate their career prospects.

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) offers a comprehensive Career Office service to all its students, providing one-on-one mentoring at no additional cost. This service includes:

  • CV check and feedback
  • Assistance with writing motivation/cover letters
  • Interview preparation and practice

The Career Office’s mission is to help students become familiar with the job market and feel confident in taking the next step in their professional development. They provide tailored advice and digital tools to support students’ career journeys.

To make the most of this service, students are advised to come to the consultation well-prepared. This means emailing their CV and motivation letter to careeroffice@unyp.cz at least a day in advance, so the Career Office can provide personalized feedback and specific recommendations.

By taking advantage of UNYP’s free Career Office services, students can elevate their career prospects and gain a competitive edge in the job market upon graduation.

The UNYP Career Office offers a wide range of internships, jobs, and voluntary positions that are published on the university’s Career portal on the E-learning platform.

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is the largest and most prominent English-language higher education institution in the Czech Republic. With over 850 students from more than 80 countries, we aim to provide students with leads, opportunities and career guidance.

UNYP offers both full- and part-time job opportunities, including positions with the university’s partner companies and recruitment consultants. These job openings are regularly posted and updated on the UNYP Career Office Forum, as well as communicated through the university’s e-learning platform to students and graduates.

Students and graduates can register with the UNYP Career Office section on the e-learning portal to benefit from updates and events organized by the Career Office.

Company visits provide students with a valuable opportunity to engage directly with employers. During these visits, students can hear directly from company representatives or recruiters about what it is like to work for their organization. These interactions also allow students to develop professional contacts through networking.

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) places a strong emphasis on preparing its students and graduates for their professional careers.

To this end, the university organizes a range of activities, including the annual UNYP Career Days held every spring.

The UNYP Career Days event is open to both students and companies at no cost. It provides an excellent opportunity for students to explore internship and career opportunities, while also giving organizations a platform to promote themselves and introduce available career options.

Participating companies are given dedicated booth space, as well as the ability to conduct interactive presentations, case studies, or workshops for UNYP students. This allows them to engage directly with potential candidates for full-time, part-time, or internship positions.

In addition, UNYP invites its alumni to share their career journeys after graduating, with the aim of inspiring, encouraging, and motivating current students.

The UNYP Career Days event is organized in collaboration with leading companies in the Czech market and recruitment agencies, catering to students and graduates seeking their first job, career advancement, or internships

The purpose of these workshops and seminars is to support and assist all students in entering the job market. This involves exploring and making effective career choices, as well as bringing professional life to the UNYP campus and linking theory with practice.

The workshops also aim to help students write and improve their cover letters and resumes/CVs. Additionally, they provide advice on how to apply for job offers or internships, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the job market successfully.

By offering these comprehensive resources, the university aims to empower students and facilitate their transition from academia to the professional world, ensuring they are well-prepared to take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
