Our Mission

We prepare students to succeed in the international world of business.  Our programs provide students with a solid foundation in business management and familiarity with the cultural aspects of international leadership while simultaneously developing critical thinking skills and strong English communication skills.

Broad-Based Student Learning Goals

  • Students will acquire the relevant discipline knowledge and competencies suitable to their program of study.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate an understanding of various business environments and suitable decision-support tools.
  • Students will be able to propose business decisions and solutions appropriate to the business environment.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate effective business professional skills.                     

Broad-Based Operational Goals

  • The School will offer contemporary degree programs that effectively prepare students for their careers.
  • The School will recruit and retain a faculty team that excels at teaching.
  • The School will provide a student-centred environment which is responsive to the needs of students.

Intended Student Learning Outcomes for the BBA Program

  • Students will be able to demonstrate foundational knowledge of the functional areas of business, namely – Management, Economics, Accounting and Finance, and Marketing.
  • Students will be able to describe the global, legal, social and economic environment of business.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the ethical obligations of business and apply them to business decisions.
  • Students will be able to apply appropriate decision support tools.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to write and orally present ideas effectively in business English.
  • Students will be able to apply effective analytical and critical-thinking skills in an organizational context.

Intended Student Learning Outcomes for the MBA Program

  • Students will be able to demonstrate skills in problem recognition.
  • Students will be able to perform a strategic analysis from a multi-disciplinary perspective, synthesize information and produce a congruent plan of action.
  • Students will be able to use suitable quantitative methods as tools of effective management.
  • Students will be able to write and orally present ideas persuasively and effectively in business English.
  • Students will be able to demonstrate teamwork skills suitable to a multi-cultural environment.
  • Students will be able to identify and analyze the ethical obligations and responsibilities of business.

Outcomes assessment for the School of Business and IT UNYP

Excellence in business education is evaluated through the assessment of the academic business unit’s mission and broad-based goals, student learning outcomes, and operational outcomes. This is a continuous quality improvement process. UNYP developed its assessments in partnership with the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE).
