Conflict and Security Studies Concentration

Make the World a Safer Place with a Concentration in Conflict & Security Studies

The world needs experts who can navigate risk, conflict, and security. With a Conflict & Security Studies concentration at UNYP, you’ll develop the skills to analyze global threats and contribute to a safer, more stable world.

This program goes beyond traditional security studies. You’ll explore national security, economic stability, environmental risks, and societal protection, learning how to prevent, manage, and resolve conflicts on an international scale.

As global conflicts evolve, so do the challenges we face. Our curriculum equips you with practical analytical skills to understand modern disputes and the role of violence in international relations. Graduates are prepared for careers in diplomacy, security analysis, policy advising, and global organizations—where they can make a real impact.

This concentration is available to SUNY Empire State University students in the UNYP dual-degree program. To earn the designation, students must complete 12 credits (24 ECTS) in relevant courses, focus their theses on security studies, and pass the Czech State Exam. The concentration will be officially recognized in the UNYP Diploma Supplement.

"UNYP provides its students with a great deal of self-appreciation and belief in one’s own abilities. Thanks to UNYP’s approach and philosophy, and the way in which its highly-professional staff pass their practical knowledge and skills onto students, graduates enter the real world armed with the confidence that allows them to achieve great things. Having this degree was a condition for me to study in the UK, and UNYP made the process of getting enrolled at the LSE very smooth."
