Behavioral Economics is an interdisciplinary field that combines Economics and Psychology to understand how people make decisions in the real world. Unlike traditional economics, which assumes people are rational actors with perfect self-control and long-term focus, Behavioral Economics studies the instincts, biases, emotions, and cognitive heuristics that influence real-life decision-making.
At the University of New York in Prague, students pursuing a Bachelor in Business Administration with a Concentration Certificate in Behavioral Economics learn to apply psychological insights to economic behaviors. By understanding how impulsivity, emotion, and circumstances shape decision-making, students gain valuable tools to address complex problems in various professional contexts.
Studying Behavioral Economics equips students with skills and knowledge applicable to a wide range of careers. Corporations, NGOs, and governments increasingly leverage behavioral economics to shape policies, improve strategies, and influence behavior. Graduates can pursue careers as government consultants, corporate strategists, financial analysts, or in fields like law enforcement, politics, and cultural dynamics.
To earn the Concentration Certificate in Behavioral Economics, students complete 12 credits (24 ECTS credits) in behavioral economics-related courses and focus their bachelor’s thesis on a relevant topic. This unique combination of skills prepares graduates to make meaningful contributions across diverse industries.
