Mark Brandon is a specialist in modern US and European history. He is the author of The Perils of Race Thinking: A Portrait of Aleš Hrdlička (Central European University Press, May 2023). https://ceupress.com/book/perils-race-thinking
His work concentrates on racism, nationalism, anthropology, and immigration in the first half of the twentieth century.
He has taught at UNYP since 2004, and he was the recipient of UNYP’s Excellence in Teaching Award in 2016. He was born in the United States but has lived most of his adult life in a small town in the Czech Republic.
